a tour of wolf haven

A few months back, a car full of us drove down to Tenino to visit Wolf Haven, a non-profit organization that takes in wounded or abandoned wolves that can't be released back into the wild.  We actually went down to see Will Oldham play, but showed up early in the morning to get a tour beforehand.

When you arrive, you first get to see the wolf and coyote's graves, laying between a field full of Mima Mounds.  The tours are small and make a small loop around the kennels to meet the wolves that are willing to come around to the fence.  The guide was wonderful -- very informative and funny, and as depressing as the tour was, it was so wonderful to realize that there is a place for these animals that couldn't be taken care of anymore.  So worth taking a trip down for if you're in the area!
